Personalized Support for the Transition to Teaching
Want to Teach in New Mexico?
There’s a good chance you can! To get most New Mexico teaching licenses, you have to get or have a bachelor’s degree, pass a background check and get trained through an approved teacher training program. Native language and culture teaching certificates and vocational teaching licenses are also available and do not require a bachelors degree.
Get a New Mexico Teaching License
Before you teach, you need to fill out a licensure application with NM’s Public Education Department. You also need to send transcripts and get a background check.
